Little Bits: Tea Cakes

My local quilt/sewing shop, Hip Stitch Studio, put out a kit a while back to make little felt tea cakes.  Joan, the awesome proprietor, had samples made up and displayed all over her shop so I couldn’t resist getting a kit for myself.  It came with pre-cut cream-colored circles for the cake and pink, white and brown pre-cut icing for the top along with embroidery floss, beads for sprinkles, thread and stuffing.

I’ve been in the mood for small, quick-to-finish projects and these are perfect.

I added a loop for hanging, but these would be cute to string together for a garland, too.

I had lots of fun with the beading although my make everything symmetrical brain had a hard time with randomly scattered sprinkles.  Must work on that!

I even jazzed up the backs of each by attaching a cute button.

Who wants one?!
