I am an absolute sucker for quick quilts. I’m also a sucker for chocolate, coffee and Tom Selleck, if anyone’s curious. Anyone like, say, Tom Selleck.
This is the second finish from Saturday’s Sew-in at The Roadrunner Retreat Center and I couldn’t be happier. Well, actually, I could be happier given chocolate, coffee and Tom Selleck but I’m pretty happy with this finish, too.
This is the Strawberry Fields Bali Pop from Hoffman Batiks. God bless ’em, I love their stuff. If you’ve ever seen the YouTube videos of crazed quilters whipping one of these puppies out in under an hour, let me just say I think those ladies were on speed or something because this took me a couple of hours. I blame it on pressing the seams as I go along. I’m a sucker for this pattern, not only because it’s quick but also because you never know exactly what the finished product will look like.
Onward!
Looks great! I had never bought a Bali pop until this weekend. I bought two! Can’t wait to see how they turn out.
Thanks, Mary 🙂 I love anything batik!
I’ m almost finished with one of these in baby size. 13 strips makes a quilt 32 inches by about 34 inches. Next one I make I think I’ll cut the strips in half to mix them up more. No more complicated baby quilts!
I love the colors in your quilt, sort of sunset reflection on water.
I used a HoneyBun (1 1/2″ wide strips) once to make a Jelly Roll inspired baby quilt. Makes a nice size.
Love it! I haven’t done one yet, but a lot of Project Linus blanketeers make them.
Hate to tell you this, but I have dibs on Tom Selleck. I would run off with him any time! He will probably show up here the same day Sandra Bullock comes by for your Uncle Steve.
